Born in Bosnia, raised in Florida, and living in Berlin, Žana’s comedy mirrors her eclectic cultural background and is best described as Balkan pessimism battling delusional American positivity sprinkled in with reggaeton flair.

Within 5 months of starting comedy she became a finalist in the 2022 Berlin New Stand Up Awards and is now hosting & producing shows in Berlin & across Europe. She was nominated for Manchester’s Women in Comedy Festival Awards as Best Newcomer in 2024 and has opened in English & Spanish for a variety of comedians across Europe in such as Dragos Christian, Dwayne Perkins, Rob Anderson, Elena Gabrielle & Silvia de Frente.

You can catch her perform regularly in Berlin to hear her fresh take on the absurdity of immigration laws, her Balkan background, and growing up in Florida. The Wall Comedy Club was founded on a simple idea, that literally everything can turn into a joke that can help make people's days a bit brighter. From our capacity (69 lol), to our mistake in asking the German government for permission to build a new Berlin Wall, (and they approved for some reason!), we'd like to invite you to a celebration of how far the stand up comedy scene has grown in the last few years in Berlin.

What can you expect from the show? We've invited some of the best international comedians who perform regularly in Berlin and throughout Europe for a two hour stand up comedy show. We have a lovely bar with drinks and cocktails and will take a 15 minute intermission roughly half way through the show. If you want to see some of the best Stand Up Comedy in Berlin, this event is for you!

About the Club: The Wall Comedy was founded in January 2020, truly the best (or worst if you have ever heard of something called "the news") time. We have stand up shows every day apart from Monday and all the shows are in English except for one show on Sundays which is in German. Our goal is to help grow the stand up community in English and create a truly open space for comedians to shine.

What about refunds? Do you do them? And Can I pay with a credit card? Yes to both! We ask that if you request a refund, you give at least one-day notice so we have time to process it. If you try to refund too close to the event, we might not see it and can't refund a ticket within a couple hours of the event. Oh, and we definitely take cards.

What are the ticket options/what if I want to buy at the door? We can sell you tickets at the door, but only if we aren't sold out. If you see the event is sold out online, we won't have any tickets available at the door. However, if we do have open space, we sell tickets for €20 at the door! And we have an early bird ticket which you can buy for the old price up to a week in advance for the show or a group ticket that you can buy with groups of 4 or larger.

Where are we located and when do we open? We are located right at Boxhagener Platz in Friedrichshain. We open at 8pm and the show will start at 8:30pm. If you are looking for something to do before the show, there is park nearby and a ton of restaurants and activities. We are even close to the East Side Gallery if you want to look at Berlin's original Wall before dropping by the Wall Comedy Club!

Anna’s a Kiwi born, Melbourne raised, Berlin based full-time independent standup comedian, YouTube host, podcaster and producer. She celebrates life’s struggles with incisive standup and playful audience interaction. KONZEPT

"Fast Spontan" ist die wildeste Comedyshow der Stadt. Punkt. In der ersten Hälfte spielen die besten Comedians der berliner Comedyszene Teile ihrer Programme, um euch und uns in Stimmung zu bringen. In der zweiten Hälfte fallen dann alle Hüllen, vor allem die Emotionalen!Jeder Comedian bekommt fünf Begriffe und dann wird improvisiert. Sie wissen nicht, was wir ihnen vorsetzen und sehen die Begriffe im selben Augenblick wie ihr. Ein einzigartiges Konzept, was euch so nur die Hauptstadt der Comedy bietet!

COMEDY CLUB

Der THE WALL COMEDY CLUB hat sich in den letzten Jahren als alternative und treibende Kraft der Berliner Comedyszene etabliert. Mitten im Schmelztiegel für Kunst und Kultur (direkt am Boxhagener Platz) macht der Comedy Club mit "fast spontan" seinem Namen alle Ehre und etabliert damit ein Format, was fortgeschrittenen Comedians die Möglichkeit bietet an Ihren Witzen zu arbeiten, bevor es damit auf Tour oder ins Fernsehen geht.

Yaaas Queen is a monthly celebration of fierce and fabulously funny queens, kings and royal criminal queers! The show is in English and on second Thursday of every month.

This is not just a stand-up comedy open mic – it is a fun and safe space for women & LGBTQIA+ comics who want to either try stand-up for the first time, work on their funny bits or experiment with other comedy formats. There’s always a different line-up of experienced and less experienced jesters and we try to make it as varied as possible!

It is also a cosy opportunity for you, our lovely audience members, to meet like-minded, open-hearted people who enjoy laughing, can take a joke and just want to have a marvellous evening.

Show Description

Allegory is a work-in-progress standup comedy show about the stories we tell ourselves while situating our own identity in the constellation that is our circle of colleagues, friends and family while nursing a pet octopus with digestive issues. The themes in the show are loosely about being an immigrant parent navigating the conundrum of dissecting the past in light of the present, working women and our apocryphal freedoms and our relationship to our Debuting at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2022 selling out most of its box-office run, minds and bodies. In this show, Anu will workshop new bits of this show which will premiere in the coming months. Anu Vaidyanathan’s debut comedy hour, BC:AD - Before Children, After Diapers, has toured the world including two stops off-Broadway, Europe (Berlin, Frankfurt, Cologne, Munich, Luxembourg, Paris, Krakow, Lisbon, Madrid, Barcelona), UK (London, Cambridge, Rotherham, Sheffield, Bristol, Brighton, Wales) and India (Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai).

Artist Bio

Anu Vaidyanathan is a filmmaker, comedian, and engineer whose memoir Anywhere But Home (about her life as India’s first endurance triathlete) was long-listed for the Mumbai Film Festival’s word-to-screen market in 2016. Her feature scripts have found themselves at the final rounds at Sundance and Rotterdam. As a comedian, she has performed across the world in the USA, greater Europe, UK and India and has trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London and Ecole Philippe Gaulier in France. Her book and films are available on Amazon and on request.
